2024 Planning Permissions
2024 has started with a number of planning permissions gained by Shape Architecture. Over one per week. We describe the five planning permissions granted in January below.
1. Planning permission in Lewisham for basement extension.
2. Planning permission in Ealing for rear extension
3. Planning permission in Battersea for large 5 metre deep rear extension
4. Planning permission in Fulham for Roof Terrace.
5. Planning permission in Brighton for green roof and rooflights to extension
Planning permission in Lewisham for basement extension.
We gained planning permission for another basement extension for the same Developer client in Lewisham. As with our previous project we were commissioned to gain planning permission only. This then adds value to the property as the permission is in place and clearly demonstrates how a large amount of additional floor space can be added. The planning permission also included moving the entrance to the property from the use to the front facade.
Planning permission in Ealing for rear extension.
Our portfolio of extensions in Ealing continues to expand. Here a relatively small rear extension coupled with opening up the interior creates a light bright and contemporary space much transformed and with a far improved connection with the garden. A range of designs were explained with the client, some five alternatives and all clearly described using 3D computer models in addition to 2D drawing.
Planning permission in Battersea for large 5 metre deep rear extension
We have gained planning permission for a large extension in Battersea Church Road. Following negotiations with the planning authority we were successful on obtaining planning permission at our first attempt. The permission permits construction to the height and depth the client was very keen to achieve. The project also includes changes to the internal layout at every level. We he have worked on many modern townhouses throughout London are adept at transforming this type of property.
Planning permission in Fulham for Roof Terrace.
We have gained planning permission for another roof terrace in Fulham. This time in New Kings Road. The successful planning process drew on our large portfolio of roof terraces in London. We first submitted a Pre-App to confirm all the particular issues that the planners are concerned with and offer several design options for valuable feedback. On receipt of the Pre-App report we took on board the comments and added the further documents required for a Full Application. This was then approved. We were employed to gain planning permission only on this project.
Planning permission in Brighton for green roof and rooflights to extension.
Having already gained planning permission for a loft conversion and hip to gable extension to this house in Portland Road we were asked to upgrade further existing features at ground floor level. This primarily concerned the removal of a poor quality flat roof to an existing extension and it’s replacement with a green sedum roof and several large rooflights. The appearance and technical performance of the roof is now vastly improved and the existing kitchen is flooded with natural light. The planning approval also picked up a number of changes to the front elevation.
