Hurlingham Road
Fulham
Private Residential | Basement
Our project in Hurlingham Road saw the addition of a basement and the remodelling of the ground floor.
The key feature of this basement extension in Fulham is an elegant glass box located between the interior and the garden and forming one side of the garden lightwell.
Our Client at Hurlingham Road writes:
Shape Architecture have been involved in our residential basement conversion project from inception right through to the final stages. We have been very impressed by their continual professionalism and dedication to the project. They have been supportive to us, as clients, throughout the project and have always been responsive to what was needed at the different stages. The level of service received has been very personal and we have felt that we were a priority throughout. We would thoroughly recommend Shape Architecture to others.
As a striking addition to the property the glass box fulfils many functions
It houses the stair connecting the ground floor to the basement and provides significant light into the basement extension and views out. In addition as one moves between levels there is always a strong sense of the surrounding garden. On entry into the large kitchen dining space the glass box is immediately apparent and takes the eye towards the garden.
Having located the stairs ‘outside’ of the building more floor space is made available at both ground and basement floors. Given the prominence of this glazed feature an elegant framed glass structure was specified.
