Shape Architecture has been successful in obtaining planning permission for the extension and remodeling of a small house near Preston Park in Brighton.

With a great deal of charm, character and much potential we have added a rear extension with a green sedum roof and reconfigured the stair in a triple height void. This serves to flood the interior with daylight and provide a far greater sense of height, space and volume. All of which was lacking in the existing house.

The impact is now a distinctive and contemporary house full of light with a far improved connection with its rear pocket garden, rather than the property being characterised by its small size.
