New Roof Terrace at Cavendish House
Shape Architecture was successful in obtaining planning permission for this large roof terrace at Cavendish House on Brighton’s seafront opposite the i360.
Our client’s apartment gave onto the existing flat roof and in forming a door from an existing window opening, easy access could be gained. The enclosure to the terrace is in the form of simple glass balustrading. The resulting roof terrace is extensive and offers the users superb views of the seafront.
This approval is similar to another large roof terrace project by Shape Architecture to the Grade 2 listed Florin Court in Charterhouse Square. Here again an underused flat roof more given over to services runs is transformed into a much-enjoyed resource.
Such external space is ever more appreciated, and Shape Architecture has a diverse portfolio of roof terraces of all sizes and type.
