Apartment refurbishment
Shape Architecture works on many apartment refurbishment projects. We always have several on the drawing board in the practice. Typically, they do not have a planning permission aspect, but rather involve the internal re-working of the spaces to create light filled contemporary rooms with a much improved flow throughout the apartment. This project follows these lines and is of interest as the high ceilings and large rooms clearly offered much opportunity to create a fully transformed apartment. Our work started with the two of our members of staff carrying out a digital survey and then creating a measured survey brochure both in 2D and 3D. Following this, a Proposals Brochure was produced for our Clients. This incorporated a number of design options each explored in 2D and 3D
Shape Architecture was appointed to undertake the design for a duplex flat project extension and remodel located at the corner of Cavaye House on Fulham Road. The primary objective was to expand the living space across both floors whilst also enhancing the interior. In contrast to the adjacent property (https://www.shapearchitecture.co.uk/project/fulham-duplex-house/), and as the flat could be extended in two directions, a crucial requirement was to incorporate an extra bedroom.

Subsequently the flat became a three-bedroom changing its rental potential. Operating on behalf of a property developer, the outcome is a significantly enlarged, well-lit, and modern flat. Additional bathrooms and and en-suite add a layer of interest and luxury. Working with interior designers, the refined and simple selection of materials and colours results in an elegant aesthetic. All parties involved are highly satisfied with the outcome.
