Eaton Place

Working as architects in Westminster, Shape Architecture continues to expand its portfolio of residential projects.  Here we have taken a large and prominent grade 2 listed house in Eaton Place presently configured as a series of flats and begun the process of creating a contemporary and light filled family home.

Having worked on numerous high finish listed buildings throughout Westminster such as our projects at Grosvenor Square and St. James Place we were able to bring a wealth of experience to the project.

One of the most striking additions was the introduction of a 3-storey new infill extension, which blended into the existing structure while adding a significant amount of space and functionality.

Throughout the house we have designed a range of bespoke furniture and many new bathrooms.

Given the extent to which the interior of the house floors and walls have been removed the amount of temporary works required to maintain its structural integrity was complex.  This is where a design team that also includes an experienced structural engineer is in important as is the involvement of a reputable Contractor.
