Duplex Flat overlooking Park in Hove

Shape Architecture has obtained planning permission for a loft extension forming a duplex flat overlooking Wish Park in Hove.  Our clients own the first floor flat with an undeveloped pitched roof over. With Wish Park opposite our clients realised there was a great potential to transform their property both in terms of the addition of light filled space and also a much-improved visual connection with the outside.  Shape Architecture was appointed to realise this.  Our portfolio is characterized by such projects which serve to transform properties allied to a use of glass to exploit views and fill the interior with natural light. Shape Architecture gained planning permission at our first attempt and below we illustrate the design.  As with all our projects the use of 3D computer models was central to the design process.  This was particularly useful in giving an understanding of the interior.  The design features a kitchen/dining/living space at loft level to take advantage of the volume and height in the loft and the impressive views there are of the park.  A series of dormers provide improved head room to the rear of the floor plan.
