Shape Architecture has been working as architects in Fulham for 17 years and our Director Jason Wren has been in practice in Fulham for a further ten years. Our work encompasses private residential projects of all types and size and common to all is the creation of light filled contemporary spaces.
Below we illustrate the breadth of our work in Fulham with three projects. The first is a basement extension with ground floor refurbishment in Hurlingham Road. The second Fulham project is at Cavaye House on Fulham Road where we extended a duplex flat at both levels including the creation of a roof terrace and completely re worked the interior.
The third project illustrates one of our range of extensions in Fulham in Knivet Road.
Fulham Basement Extension
Our basement extensions in Fulham run to 16 now and this is one of our first basement projects and remains important. The key feature is the locating of the basement stair in a glass box that sat at the rear façade. The box in its form and detail is striking and elegant. The stair too is a distinct feature and together they ensure a well-integrated basement extension with the enjoyable experience of no matter what the weather a walk ‘in the garden’ can be enjoyed when going to the basement.

Fulham Duplex Flat extension and refurbishment
Shape Architecture has worked on a range of extensions and refurbishment of flats throughout Fulham. Here our client’s duplex flat was transformed with an extension at both levels and the creation of a roof terrace alongside the complete internal refurbishment to include new bathrooms and walk-in-wardrobe. We designed both the bathrooms and also the bespoke wardrobes. This project truly transformed our Client’s home.

Fulham Extension
Our extension in Knivet Road sought to open up what was a fairly standard terraced house and provide views of the living dining space on entry. We replaced the stairs with two short flights with open risers to provide these views and create a sense of openness. The extension has a large rooflight and glazed doors which serve to flood the interior with natural light and connect well with the garden. In other parts of the house we designed new bathrooms and bedroom spaces – removing the ceiling to the master bedroom to reveal the full volume of the space below the roof.
