Fulham Side Extension
Our Fulham side extension in Ewald Road has started on site. As noted in yesterday’s blog, we always have side extensions in our practice at various stages. Here the addition of a side extension transforms the interior to form a light filled kitchen and dining room with improved connection to the garden.
The aim is to create an elegant and contemporary interior. To this effect we have worked with the structural engineer to ensure that the steel frame top beam sits within the ceiling zone so there are no interruptions to a flat ceiling.
We are also installing sliding doors onto the garden with a narrow frame. We find sliding doors a more elegant solution and a thin frame, nominally half the width of a standard frame, creates a demonstrable feeling of contemporary elegance.
