Green Roofs
Shape Architecture has been designing buildings with green roofs for over sixteen years and our director for a further ten years before that. Our experience is broad and has witnessed the development of green roof technology. Over time it has been applied to a variety of building types and scale ranging from green roofs to small residential extensions such as Rugby Road in Brighton, to larger green roofs to school and community buildings such as to the Anthony Roper school in Kent and the recently completed Level Best community centre in Colchester. Each installation provides an appealing roofscape and a roof that encourages biodiversity and absorbs circa 70 per cent of the rainwater that falls upon it. Both ever more important issues.
