Having successfully carried out a basement and ground floor extension project at the neighbouring property in Redesdale Street, Shape Architecture was asked by the owner of the neighbouring house to create a contemporary light filled home from a property presently configured as separate flats.
Many of our projects such as two basement extensions in Ellerby Street in Fulham or neighbouring duplex flats at Cavaye house are commissioned on this basis as our potential client has the advantage of observing the construction process over a period of months, seeing the result and being able to speak to a very relevant previous client.
The result is a light bright contemporary dwelling with a successful lower ground floor kitchen and dining space giving onto the garden. The garden itself was reduced in level to allow easy access from the lower ground floor and this creates a far improved visual and physical access between interior and exterior. At the first floor a Master Bedroom suite was created with walk-in-wardrobe and en-suite. As with the majority of our projects Shape Architecture carried out the interior design of the bathrooms and also designed a series of bespoke items of furniture including the walk-in-wardrobe.
Our Client writes:
“Jason was very professional, easy to work with and got on well with the builder. All in all a very good experience.”
