Projects on site in 2023
St Maur Road
Here in Fulham we have been granted planning permission to convert a house divided into two flats into a family home with the addition of a large basement and a variety of further extensions. The permission completely transforms the property into a light filled contemporary home.
Acfold Road
Shape Architecture is presently on site with a garden studio in Fulham. We carry out many garden studio projects across the borough ranging from those with a glazed link back to the house to others with a well-defined sustainable brief. This project is of interest as it works with an existing structure and retains several walls whilst replacing the floor and roof with much better insulated construction. A series of rooflights are also added to flood the interior with daylight and feature glazed panels and doors are also integrated into what will be a total transformation of a garden studio.
Norfolk Road
Shape Architecture continues to obtain planning permission for extensive roof terraces. Here in a prominent conservation area and adjacent to a listed building, we have obtained planning permission for a roof terrace accessed by a glazed box and in addition two large first floor rear extensions. The project is close to our roof terrace project at Caveside House opposite the i360.
Lawrence Road
This project is interesting as it takes a fairly large house in Hove and illustrates how extensions and refurbishment can create a more considered, contemporary and light filled home, more suited to modern family life. The design sees the addition of a side infill extension and a loft conversion with a hip to gable. The ground floor is opened up and redesigned. Glazed screens and doors ensure that as soon as you enter views of the garden can be had a sense of openness is achieved. The side infill extension creates a far more usable kitchen dining space. A green Sedum roof is formed over the side infill extension providing a far improved view when looking over this space as it melds with the garden. A rooflight cuts through the sedum roof and is linked in a glass to glass detail with a glazed screen. Simple and elegant detailing will add much to this project. The project was granted planning permission with no concerns raised by the planning authority.
