Architects in Fulham
Shape Architecture has just obtained planning permission for the conversion of a house in Fulham from its present configuration as two flats back into a large contemporary family home. As architects in Fulham, Shape Architecture is often involved in residential projects of this type.
Contemporary Architecture
A contemporary interior has been designed by opening up the space and employing a high quality palette of materials. Once past the entrance lobby, the ground floor is one large open space. A sense of the zoning of spaces is achieved through the difference in floor level between front and rear of the property. A feature curvilinear step is designed to deal with the level difference. A large rooflight helps define the dining area and the kitchen island defines the kitchen area. A change in flooring material from timber to large format tiles also helps create the sense of different zones within one large open space.
Extensions in Fulham
The project includes a glazed side extension. Much care has been taken in the detailing of the glass junctions to ensure a simple and elegant appearance is achieved. The extensive rooflight will fill the interior with light and much improve the aspect with views of the sky. Giving onto the garden, a series of sliding and folding doors opens up the space onto the rear of the property.
Pod Rooms in Fulham
A pod room has also been included as a part of this project. Shape Architecture continues to design and build many pod rooms in Fulham, having also just submitted a planning application for a pod room in Edgarley Terrace in Fulham.
Fixed Furniture
We have designed a range of fixed furniture for this project. These vary from storage units at the ground floor level to units forming a walk-in-wardrobe in the master suite. As a practice we have a great deal of experience in designing fixed furniture of all styles and sizes. These range from spray finished MDF to wood veneer and hand painted or spray painted solid wood.
Garden Space in Fulham
The garden is not large, but with a simple mix of planting, materials and features it will provide a valuable outdoor space that is well linked to the interior. The design of the garden will be similar to that of our project in 110 Hurlingham Road, also in Fulham.
